Welcome to One Small Devotion - each week! I'm Pastor Matt Richardt.
I shepherd a little flock in Escondido, California, called Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. "Gloria Dei" means "Glory of God" and the congregation belongs to a church body called The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
Ordained in 1995, I have served congregations in Festus, Missouri, and Jackson, Wyoming. In 2002 I became a Navy chaplain and spent the next three years serving our Marines. I came to Gloria Dei in 2005.
My goal is to write and publish one small devotion here on this site each week throughout the year. I hope to cover a broad range of Bible verses and spiritual topics.
